Don't Forget those in need

In continuation with the theme of Hebrew13.. verse3 urges us to help those in need. I must say this has been tugging at my heart for the last couple of months. The word of God says " Don't forget about those in prision . Suffer with them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being mistreated, as though you feel their pain in your own bodies." This verse reminds me of a few people in my life. First Charles and his wife Lois. Charles has a brother Ralph who is in prision now and has been there for some time. If you know Charles you know his character and his passion for Christ. He has been witnessing to his brother for about 30 years now and recently his brother came to know Christ as his savior. Praise God and Amen!!!! I remember him asking us to pray for him in the home bible studies and doing so. I really don't know if I'll meet Ralph ever here...but the knowing that one day I'll see him in heaven is amazing--- how will i know. Well I know Charles and I'm pretty sure that if I spot Charles praising God and I see this guy I don't know next to him whom he also is happy is there.. well I think that might be Ralph. So another prisioner comes to mind. This is Joel. Now I've met him once before but that was over 7 years ago and I know his sister has been praying fervently and asking us to pray for him. Recently he asked if we could write him and I've really been praying about doing this. I really want to but I know how insufficient I am. Then I read how I can't and shouldn't forget those in need. Ralph, though he has come to know the Lord is not devoid of his need of him. Ralph is still in prision and will continue to need the Lord and prayers from family. Joel on the other hand does need the Lord. Though the content of these verses are focused on, I believe prisioners who are believers like Ralph is now.. I think that our hearts, my heart should never cease praying and continue those who don't know the Lord. I am continuing to pray for wisdom and the time to write Joel. I want him to come to know the Lord as his sister and her family does also. I have seen her faithfulness. I have seen the heartache also. I urge us all to not forget. Suffer with them... pray for them and love them. Now these are only personal experiences with whom I have connections with, but I remembered Mike visiting the prisions with Victor and though I could not go due to my gender I know that by going and praying and preaching he lived these words. He saw with his own eyes their need and he did not forget. Be encouraged and continue to pray.
